Land Use Allocations

Plates 9 and 10 illustrate the future land uses in the total Capital City District (Urban) area and in the Capital City, at the time that it will have a population of 1,000,000 and 350,000 respectively.

The District covers a total area of 261,850 ha, of which 9,492 ha (4%) are allocated for the city (population 350,000) and 252,358 ha (96%) constitute the rural area. Within the rural area of the District, 15,360 ha are designated for possible long-range expansion of the city, to a population of 1 million.

Table 3 provides a summary breakdown of major land uses in the Capital City District (Urban). Further detailed information in this context is included in Chapter IV and Appendix D.
